THE MUNCHAUSEN’S FOREST TRAIL is the longest footbridge of aspen plank in Europe. It goes through Vidzeme wetland forest. The total length of both its passages is 5.3 km. The longest passage reaches the sea, where one can sunbathe in white sand of Vidzeme beach and swim in the sea.
Walking along the path, one can enter into the spirit of Munchausen’s adventures watching about 40 heroes of fairy tales carved in wood – hares, wild boars, wolves, a whale, a crocodile…
In 2006, the forest trail gained the title “THE MOST SUCCESSFUL NEW TOURIST ROUTE OF 2006”, but in 2007 – it participated in “BALTIC TOURISM MARATHON” as one of 12 attraction sites of Latvia.
